She is born and raised in Ontario, and has been supporting families and youth in crisis since 2018. She has extensive experience supporting adults with mental health challenges (e.g., anxiety, depression, life transitions, etc.) and system navigation in community mental health. Ava approaches her work from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, trauma-informed, and person- centered lens to create an emotionally safe and compassionate space for clients to feel heard and supported. Brandon is a mental health clinician with the North Shore PCN Mental Health Support Team. Brandon holds degrees in philosophy and social work from UBC. Brandon’s professional experience includes training support workers within non-profit settings to provide individualized support for neurodivergent individuals, in addition to working with multiple non-profits and health care teams within the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver and throughout the Lower Mainland. Brandon is passionate about applying compassionate, culturally safe care, and adopts a strengths-based, person-centered counselling framework, using approaches from motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based cognitive behaviour therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
